The Youtube ad monetization game is becoming more of a cluster fuck.
Disney bought Maker back in 2012ish, and is now closing down most of the channels minus about 300 to continue little Disney informercials, Buzzfeed-sponsored-content-style. In this post, I embed two video game nerds talking about the implications of Disney’s latest moves on their podcast.
Time for the first Weekend Read/Watch post!
This week I have a link about the media business (what else), more 9 to 5 Mac testing GPU’s in Hackintoshes, MKBHD’s video reviewing a new Blackberry!?, and Comic Book Girl 19 (one of my fav Youtubers) giving us the dirt on Guardians Vol. 2.
This is some ‘Dear Diary’ shit.
I’m making tons of progress. I feel focused. Jiu-jitsu has taught me so much that I can apply to my every day life. I need to keep this going!
Now that Nvidia has released new drivers for Macs (finally!), are Hackintoshes still going to be viable?
9 to 5 Mac shows their latest Hackintosh build, starring the power house GTX 1080 ti GPU. Check out their build and instructions and help me decide if it is worth spending an extra $500 on a 1080 ti vs a comparable AMD card. Hmmm.
Incoming (good) links = SEO.
I’m in a bunch of random Skype chat and someone dropped their list of how they build links for their sites. Are you missing any of these? I know I need to step up m local listings and local reviews game.
Sometimes free design books are as good as the paid ones.
When I find resources that I think can help me and my imaginary readers, I gotta share. After reading two excerpts from this book, I think it is worth downloading and adding to my queue.
I can barely make a fist. Typing feels weird. My finger hurts if i bend it this way. But not that way.
I embeded a video by Jiu-Jitsu Youtuber, Chewjitsu, who stresses that you can actually let go of your grip and re-grip. My finger joints look like swollen nubs right now.
I think it’s safe to say I’m a Jeff Bezos Fan.
Bezos on Charlie Rose! And a long-ass profile on Bloomberg about Jet’s founder and what he’s trying to do to turn Walmart around.
We’ve been drilling attacks in class. I might as well study some more attack sequences.
My hip bump gets shut down a lot, so as soon as my opponent bases out next time, I’m going to hit them with some of these attacks and sweeps.
Final Cut Pro X is simply one of the fastest rendering and most responsive NLE’s out there.
But am I fast enough? Hell no. These two quick videos from Ripple Training show you how you can quickly propagate your Youtube tags (something that I actually spend minutes thinking about!) and how to use the new markers better. Simple stuff, but will save me minutes.
