White Belt BJJ: Fuck, my fingers hurt

And my forearms. I can barely make a fist. Typing feels weird. My finger hurts if i bend it this way but not that way.

Chewjitsu made the perfect video for me, because I’m going to start letting go and regripping more. All of my finger joints look like swollen nubs right now.

    Training can definitely be hard when you have a regular life.

    Even taking certain hits can really affect your body doing seemingly simple tasks the next day.

    Unsure if they’ve already mentioned this but a lot of the initial hand grips many necessarily work in real life. Judo/Jiu-Jitsu Gis are wayyyyy heavier and sturdy than the average clothes most people wear. I’ve seen people wearing regular t-shirts trying to do Judo/Ju-Jitsu throws or takedowns get ripped apart.

    Try a Capoeira class Bobby. Easier on your fingers… but will destroy your legs. 🙂
